This is a great story. On the surface, it’s a pretty regular Hollywood movie international junket in Russia, even though it’s starring our friend Genndy Tartakovsky, signing for his movie Hotel Transylvania.
Actually though, it’s the story behind the story that’s great. You see, Genndy’s family left his native Russia during a time of oppressive Soviet anti-Semitism in the late 70s. And, he hadn’t returned in 35 years, until Hotel Transylvania brought him to the old country as a conquering creative hero. He was able to travel with his wife and three kids and they’re all spending a few extra days visiting Genndy’s homeland.
Monsters all over the world! Director Genndy Tartakovsky checked in to Moscow, Russia for the Russian premiere of HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA.
