I produce cartoons and media networks.

Congratulations to our great FOF Genndy Tartakovsky and our Sony Pictures Animation colleagues Michelle Raimo Kouyate and Bob Osher on the big weekend box office win (even bigger than expected, and Sony’s biggest ever) with “Hotel Transylvania”!  Cartoon fans will particularly like what Genndy’s brought to his first feature film. Right after I saw an early screening he asked me whether I liked the animation. He’d brought some of his signature directing flair to the picture and was eager to see whether anyone would notice. “The hyperkinetic cartoon vibe and visual style of [Genndy’s TV series] can be felt in the film, with the animation team exaggerating effects rather than going for a more life-like design, as motion capture in particular has aimed to do in recent years.”  Betsy Sharkey sure noticed this week in her Los Angeles Times review.  Regular readers will already know that whatever Genndy does is A-OK with Frederator. We’ve been big fans from the very beginning, and to us it’s about time we saw his work on the big screen.  So, if you like Genndy, cartoons, monsters, Adam Sandler, or Selena Gomez, Hotel T is the movie for you.
